Our Demands

Though not an exhaustive list, the following are several policies we’ve decided are among the most urgently needed and potentially transformative through Congressional action:

1. Prohibit domestic surveillance programs government-wide.

Ban the use of Graphite and other invasive spyware technologies, restrict the use and collection of Americans’ personal data by law enforcement.

2. End mandatory ICE detention.

Make immigration detention exceptional and affirmative.

3. End foreign renditions outright and forever and restrict third-country deportations.

4. Ban the use of solitary confinement in ICE detention.

6. Ban the use of military installations for immigration detention.

7. Require ICE to notify detainees’ lawyers and essential contacts before transporting them between facilities and after they have arrived.

5. Prohibit ICE operations in sensitive locations.
